Aquarium Paradox
The exhibition focuses on the issues associated with personal fulfilment during working hours set against the counterpole of using leisure time and the different ways in which the two concepts are emotionally perceived. Jana Kapelová uses dialogue, analysis, and the reconstruction of social situations to explore the options available for improving conditions not only in personal life but also in artistic operations.

In many respects, Jana Kapelová’s artistic practice represents a path to freedom motivated by the desire to create better conditions not only in life but also in artistic operations. She frequently focuses on the theme of work and personal fulfilment or, conversely, on the estrangement and functioning of the art scene as its own specific community. The tools she repeatedly seeks out and uses consist of dialogue, analysis, and the reconstruction of social situations. This exhibition, designed for the Etc. Gallery, focuses on the issues associated with personal fulfilment during working hours set against the counterpole of using leisure time and the different ways in which the two concepts are emotionally perceived.
